We love living and working in Greenville, SC. It's a great place for our web design and development business because of it's unique mix, amazing downtown and fantastic people. Greenville is also great because it's within easy travel distance of major centers like Atlanta, Raliegh, Charlotte, Columbia and others making it easy for us to have on-site meetings with our clients when nessicary.
Greenville is considered by most a "micro" city. With a population around 60,000 we think it's just about the perfect size. Formerly driven by the textile industry Greenville's leadership saw that industries decline and planned ahead creating systems around education that pushed Greenville ahead where other cities became almost ghost towns. Greenville's unique mix of industry and technology with an understanding of the importance of education make's for a special platform and a variety of opportunities unlike many places in the United States.
Greenville's uniqueness is especially evident in downtown. With an awesome Main Street, voted one of the top 10 Great Streets of 2009 by the American Planning Association, downtown Greenville is home to the Greenville Drive (a minor league baseball team), the BiLo Center (a major events arena), the Peace Center (a fine arts performance center), some of the best dining in the nation and more.
Another aspect of Greenville that we love is the fantastic people. Greenville is full of people from all walks of life, many different countries, states and cultures. You can experience authentic ethnic foods, participate in fun outdoor celebrations or just hang out at cool coffee shops. It's a very connected, savvy community with one of the largest (according to Facebook) Social Media Club chapters in the United States.
